Singer Lady Gaga's gay anthem Born This Way has been censored in predominantly Muslim Malaysia because its lyrics promote acceptance of gay people. Broadcasters in the country have refused to play some of the lines in the hit song which encourage acceptance of homosexuality.

They have said they are being cautious as the Malaysian government forbids 'offensive' material. They have replaced the line: 'No matter gay, straight or bi, lesbian, transgendered life, I'm on the right track, baby.'

The country's top private radio company, AMP Radio Networks, has said that those lyrics could be interpreted as 'offensive' in Malaysian society, as the 'issue of being gay, lesbian or (bisexual) is still considered as a taboo by general Malaysians.'
